As a kid, I grew up playing competitive sports throughout my school years, including soccer and tennis. In college, I played soccer on the gold medal championship soccer team for the University of Sydney at the Australian University Games. After having my second child, I got into the sport of triathlon for a mental and physical break from parenting and to satisfy my competitive itch. Over the next 10 years I went on to having five children and finishing six Ironman events, just a little over one race per child!

Now that my children are a little older, the last two years I have made a competitive commitment to the sport and have seen my results improve dramatically! For the first time, I hired a fantastic coach and he has pushed me to my physical limits and helped me increase those limits at the same time.  These recent results include a first-place AG, fifth-place female age grouper overall finish at Miami 70.3 in 2015 and a third-place podium finish at IM Louisville in 2016.  I also decided to try my hand at Olympic distance and, after racing only a few events, qualified for USAT Nationals and ITU Worlds, and finished 5th in my AG at ITU Worlds in Cozumel in 2016.

As a mother of five busy kids, racing triathlon keeps me sane and connected to my competitive self. The triathlon community is one of the things I love most about the sport, and the camaraderie and support of the community is unsurpassed by anything I have previously experienced. I enjoy introducing others, particularly women and youth, to the sport that I love in hopes that they will enjoy the competitiveness and community as much as I have.  With that said, I look forward to being a part of a new community of amazing athletes at Team Snapple!
