Colin is excited to be back on the Snapple Pro/Elite team for 2019! Colin was born and raised in Naperville, IL where he grew up playing a wide range of sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, football, and eventually started running cross-country and track in 8th grade. After having success as one of the top runners on the team in 8th grade, Colin continued running all four years of high school, but suffered numerous injuries off and on. Colin completed his first triathlon in 2005 between his junior and senior years of high school and after another injury-plagued season of running, Colin decided to continue pursuing triathlon as a way to stay active and competitive.
Colin attended the University of Dayton (Go Flyers!), where he studied Nutrition and Fitness and helped to start the University of Dayton Triathlon Club and competed at the USAT collegiate national championships in 2008 -2010. After graduating from Dayton, Colin studied sports nutrition at Florida State University (Go 'Noles!) and continued racing with the Florida State Triathlon Club and two more races at collegiate nationals, finishing as high as 7th place overall (2012).
Colin continued racing triathlon and continued to improve year after year. In 2013, Colin won the Best of the US Amateur National Championship and was the overall winner at the USAT Olympic distance national championship. In 2015, Colin was 3rd overall (1st American) at ITU Age-Groups sprint distance world championships and 5th overall at ITU Age-Group Olympic distance world championships.
In addition to racing on his own, Colin has been the guide/pilot for World Champion visually impaired triathlete Aaron Scheidies since 2013. Colin and Aaron have traveled all over the country and world racing together in both triathlon and cycling events as part of Team USA Para-Triathlon and Para-Cycling.
