Date of Birth/Location: Jan 16, 1988 in Rochester, Michigan. Grew up in Metamora, Michigan and currently reside in Nashville.
Years Racing: I began my career on the track and competed throughout college before taking a 5-year hiatus from competing. I've now been competing in triathlon for 2 years.
Strengths on the course: The run! I'm always very eager to get off the bike.
Goals for 2018: I would like to break 4:10 at a 70.3 event and break 1:54 at the Olympic distance. To do this, I have to continue to focus on building my bike-specific fitness. I also plan to coach several athletes and want to help them accomplish their goals.
Nickname: Well, currently, I really don't have a nickname, but in high school, it was D-Rock.
Family Status: Married to my beautiful wife Hannah and have a 4-pound Morkie that thinks he's human
Favorite Race Moment: Anchoring the Distance Medley Relay team to victory. It was back in 2009 on our home track at Saginaw Valley. Anyone that was present will tell you it was the race of the century. I've never heard, felt, or experienced the energy that was in the arena that day. It was so loud, I couldn't even hear my thoughts!
Favorite Post-Race Food: A nice, cold adult beverage!
Favorite thing when not swimming, biking, or running: I enjoy traveling and exploring. I travel frequently for work and love to find the best local restaurants in town.
Favorite Food: Pizza!
