While trying to sleep in as long as he could in college and still make it to class on time, Marty bought a bike. Soon after, he was at a bike shop and saw an application for this thing called a Triathlon.  He was intrigued, entered and fumbled through his first race…surprisingly, he did fairly well. He was hooked immediately and has done over 500 races since then and has competed in 20 World Championships across the globe.  Marty has racked up numerous AG wins every year, earned 3 National AG Titles, many years of All American honors and won a Gold Medal at the Duathlon World Championships in Gijon, Spain. Marty has met some amazing people over the years and started his Tri career in the days when there were no aero bars, cleats or even Gu!  It’s been an awesome journey and he is still very passionate about the sport, mentoring others and continually seeks to improve in all disciplines and of course upgrade his equipment whenever he can get away with it!  For 2016 Marty will focus of qualifying for 70.3 Worlds being held in Chattanooga in 2017.
